Melodramatic music definitely turns me on, this canadian band (from Montréal, Qc) called ''Pas Chic Chic'' captures that melodramatic essence perfectly. Their sound reminds me of The Dears in their earlier days perhaps because of the structure of the songs, how orchestral it is at times. It's melodramatic, dreamy and there's a new wave element to it as well. Listening to it sends my soul on a journey, my mind starts travelling and leads me to unknown destinations that are so full of life, where psychedelia meets normality, where the music transforms the surroundings around me, where each notes seems to bring me a step closer to being hypnotized by the sometime chaotic experience of listening to Pas Chic Chic.
A great album that's not meant to be enjoyed by everyone.
